The term "transdermal" refers to topical testosterone delivery through
the skin, by the use of a patch, gel, or cream. Testosterone transdermal patches allow a slow,
steady release of the hormone into the body. The patch is applied daily to a man's shaved scrotum.
The newer patch forms can be applied daily to the upper arms, back, thighs, or abdomen. Testosterone
transdermal application is attractive to those persons who are not comfortable with needles and
injections.
